Erica’s Video and Testimony

Text Box: It seems to me that life doesn’t give you enough opportunities to show you how courageous you can be. This last February, I took a step toward being courageous, not like you might define courageous, but brave nonetheless. I seized an adventure that I knew before I ever went on it that it would be a defining moment for my life—a pivotal change. When I look back years from now, I will think of this very trip and how it shaped me. It is brave to step into something that you know when you leave you won't be the same. True courage is being open to change yourself, instead of circumstances forcing you to change.

I had an amazing opportunity to visit Rwanda & Uganda Africa. These were countries that had intrigued me for years and now, miraculously I got to smell it, touch it, feel it, and taste it. The countryside was breathtaking. The children were so very joyous, their eyes as deep and rich as the country. The purity of hearts and simplicity were a healing balm to my wounded spirit. Sometime ago, I had allowed my heart to harden due to expectations I placed on God’s people. I had a hardness that I would not have recognized in myself if I didn’t go to Rwanda and Uganda and experience such true genuine love, hope, and passion for the Lord. I might have gone to Africa to minister and heal, but my dear friends, Africa ministered and healed me.
